Altenew Painted flowers

Hello there,

I recently received my prize for the AAA card Birthday celebrations, the Altenew Painted flowers stamp! Yay!!

Couldn't resist trying them as soon as possible. I made two cards with the stamps, a little different from each other. I think the gold embossed look is better for these stamps. I'll try white embossed flowers soon too!

Here are the two cards

Hope you like them!

Quilled teardrop card

Hello everyone,

With a little tied up Friday evening, I didn't get to make any cards, so I did some hoping off the challenges and made quick cards.

This one is inspired by the Muse, the rainbow teardrop quilling with two separate shades of similar colours, joined & rolled together for the rainbow colours arrangement was just perfect, as my rendition of the Muse.

The FMS#296 was similar to the Muse, so I used it as my sketch, the coloured card base and One layer card for the AAA card challenge and Less is more.

I thought the rainbow colours will look striking on a black card base.

This is what I came up with

Earlier in the day, I took out my brush pen to do some lettering and thought I'll put few things together to make a card. This is what it looked like

Hope you liked it. Thankyou for your time and checking out my work.

Happy Crafting!

Card without stamp or dies

Hello dear crafters,

Hope your day is going well. My days are always better if I get to craft the previous night. I have always wanted to do cards similar to those where one uses stamps and dies. Alas, I dont have many stamps and no dies! But don't worry, if you sail in the same boat, today I have step by step instructions on how to make a card without stamps and coordinating dies but still make it look as if you used them. The only stamp I have used here is for the sentiment, which you can always handletter (I love hand lettering, just that I wanted to use my newly bought stamps for this card). The flowers and the leaves are made with resist technique - Emboss resist in this case.

I began with taking a watercolour paper and Perfect medium embossing pen, to scribble flowers on the paper. Because I am not very good at free hand drawing, I decided to do a flower arrangement like a card with free hand flowers that I had made with a similar technique, you can see it here .

I used a white embossing powder (EP) to heat set the scribbled flower. It's a little difficult to make it in the pictures, but as I colour it, you'll be able to see the flowers better.

I made three such flowers and four leaves and heat embossed all of them with white EP .To colour these flowers and leaves I chose the colours of the Muse , at the Muse challenge. I used a wet brush to first coat the flower with water and then picked colours from the Koi brush pen on to my flowers.

Similarly, I coloured all the flowers and the leaves too. I let the colours bleed out as I thought it gave an effect of stamping.

I used scissors to fussy cut the images.

Now that my main elements were ready, I took a card base and put a pretty pattern paper on it. I used Purely sentiment stamps - labeled  from Mudra craft stamps for a contrasting effect and stamped on a piece of cardstock.

Using foam tape I arranged the the flowers, leaves and the sentiment and stuck on a white cardstock and then stuck it on the patterned paper cardbase. I used spectrum noir glitter pen on the flowers for some sheen and embellished with sequins, in similar colour as of the flower arrangement.
Here's the finished card from an angle to show you the dimensions.

I hope you liked this card and would try this easy way to make beautiful cards.

I would like to enter this card for

Musecardclub  - using the colours, sentiment and arrangement of the Muse.

Quilled Lavender card

Hello crafty friends,

I have been wanting to quill and do a little brush lettering and since I had looked up for some quotes on Pinterest for the previous card, I had pinned few lovely quotes too. (I wanted to do better lettering for the AAA cards challenge .. Where words are the centre stage)

So Saturday evening's run was given amiss and I took out my brush pens and 3mm strips to quill lavender for the card. I used the clear sequins by pretty pink posh which my Friend Marge had sent.

I am thinking of doing something like this often, handlettered quote and Quilling in a card.

What do you suggest, how'll that be?

CAS Chalkpaint card

Hello there,

I have been wanting to do a card using the chalk paint I bought from Itsy bitsy, a while back. I went through some challenges for inspiration and decided on using the chalk paint for background and write over it.

I went to Pinterest to look for a quote, which I can turn into a card. I found this lovely quote " Think of the happiest things, It's the same as Having Wings". I don't know whose quote is it, but thought it could be used on a card and given to loved ones too!

The butterfly was painted with the chalk paint. I used my uniball white gel pen for the quote and used a black quilling strip to give butterfly some dimension.

I used one of the stamps my Friend Mirella had sent for me ( didn't have butterfly stamps yet!)  And Embossed those butterflies in gold.

A clean and simple card. I know I have to work on my handlettering before I do more such work!

Thankyou for stopping by :)
